In 2012 Turkish Airlines has been awarded best airline in Europe for the second time in row.

Quote:
Turkish Airlines named Best Airline in Europe

THY Director General Temel Kotil received "the Best Airline in Europe", "the Best Airline in Southern Europe" and "the Best Premium Economy Class Airline Seats" awards at a ceremony held within the scope of an aviation fair in Farnborough in Britain, Anadoly Agency reported.
THY had received the same awards at a ceremony held in French capital of Paris in 2011 as well.

Cost saving measure for the airline... Instead of ordering 2 sets of seats 1 x 2 seaters & 1 x 4 seaters they only need to order 1 x 2 seaters....

So what is the relationship with TK and Lufthansa as both being in the SA. Is TK ever pressured by LH to give up on some markets? I am curious to know because all star carriers in the former Yugoslavia act as Lufthansa puppet feeder airlines. Now, not to offend TK, of course it is a different and bigger superpower airline, but I am curious if they share any profit with SA? I suppose they decide what they do in their house..

Ever heard of the saying "keep your friends close, and your enemies closer"... The relationship between LH & TK is a perfect example...

On the contrary. TK has opened its 12th destination in Germany and Istanbul has become an alternative for Germans traveling to the Mideast and Eastern Asia. The passenger numbers show that TK is rather a competitor and not a "feeder".

TK has 200 destinations and is still expanding aggressively. It is coming closer and closer to the Lufthansa Group (consisting of Austrian and Swiss etc..) with its 223 destinations. And most important the growth is not merely quantitative, also in terms of quality TK rising the gap to LH each year.

I agree, it's more than clear in what directing TK is heading. So I guess LH group simply can't control certain markets the way they have managed to control the Balkans.

Ladies and gentlemen, i have got one question for you.

well, i have bought a round trip on Tbilisi-Istanbul-Munich flight from 1 august to 14 august.

i have only 55 minutes transit time in Ataturk Airport. i'm afraid i will miss the plane to munich. is 55 minutes enough? what about luggage? i think its too little time .

and do i have to check in again in Ataturk airport or just go from the arrival gate do departure gate by the elivator?

You will not get down to enter Turkey, you'll remain in the transit area, so I think there will be no problems.

Not to be negative but its very very very little time especially when you're flying Turkish Airlines they delay a lot I had the same problem but with Qatar Airways I was coming from Khartoum to Dammam via Doha and I was having 1 hour transite in Doha and we arrived just 10 minutes late from Khartoum so I missed the other flight to Dammam but just hope it be on time

Your luggage will msot probably arrive later with another flight. I've been in a similar situation with another airline and that's how it happens.

There's really only 1 answer to such questions and that is to contact Turkish Airlines to ask the same questions directly to them.

great capture YU-AMC, toronto late departure should be caused by late arrival of the plane maybe. changing one plane time effects others too.
