Yah! Anyway the 1st proposal looks nicer.

The 2nd one would look really dated today, like the Hilton Hotel and could possibly be an eyesore.

Haha......should I post renderings of other "could have beens" in this thread? Quite funny to look at alternative proposals sometimes!

oh well I guess they are all elegant in their own ways. I just thought the 2nd one looked so typical of its era you wouldnt see it today and hence it might look old. But that might be a virtue.

However I'm fine with whats been built

they were by different architects? the two designs? i think they would still look ok today if built as they would have undergone much renovation over the years....

Now why didn't they settled for the second proposal??? To me, its timeless. Reminds me of the metabolist Golden Mile Complex and those buildings in Minority Report.

Come to think of it..the second one reminds me of a cross between Millenia Ritz-Charlton and NTU?

Btw, anyone of you find the last pic looks funny? Raffles City looks fat and shorter than it is actually.

Probably only the front 2 towers especially the one on the left. Looks out of proportion.

No no, as in they don't look proportional with reference to the other 2 towers and Raffles Hotel. Maybe just me.
