Aye, --every time we have passed it has always seemed busy, ---glad the refurbishment is looking good too, cheers.

Wetherspoons is indeed opening an establishment in Houghton-le-Spring. It is to be called the Wild Boar, and should have its grand opening on 29th March.

It will be the fifth Wetherspoon pub in the City of Sunderland.

Blimey that's reasonable; I thought £2.25 in the Blue Bell was decent.

Can't say I've ever been drinking along Hylton Road, though I hear the 'ski run' it is still fairly popular?

The Hylton Rd circuit is not as popular as it used to be but its good to see the Mountain Daisy open again. I hope the Railway Tavern does well as the Manager has bought it off the pub company and is making a go of it.

I was talking with some Lads that get into Houghton, ---and they think that this Wetherspoons could take trade from the other Pubs, --- suppose it's wait and see.

Of course it will, but it should also bring some healthy competition.

If they're struggling then there's either too many pubs, they're too expensive, or they're crap
