Actually it's prior to Neuschwanstein, but indeed it might be too outlandish anyway. It has some nice details (many of them in older sections belonging to a former 16th c. monastery), some other things just look a bit kitschy, but that's after all what romantic style usually is. Average Portuguese monumental architecture is much better than that though.

I was addicted to that game as well!
Did you manage to complete the economic campaign on Very Hard mode? I didn't (barely made it on Hard).

Lots of good memories about that game... favorite ones:

- desperate attempt to save my own arse by torching the whole city (apparently, it was a common experience);
- tried to meet the mission requirements with just one peasant (failed but came close);
- set up a castle on an island just to be unable to clear the map from the last invading units who just stood there...

Frederiksborg castle is indeed amazing. The best in Denmark and among the best in Europe.

Fantastic castles posted again. And thanks for crediting your sources, Ribarca. Well done
You're right. The panorama of European architecture from the neolithic Stonehenge down to the present day is something that is unmatched anywhere.

I love the photos on this thread! Thank you.
