Hi,
I don´t like those rebuilt castles like Cochem or Hohkönigsburg (Haut-Kœnigsbourg ) and so on.
They looks fine, but doesn´t feels real. Just like plastic brea... äh bread

Ok, here my contrbutions :

The most impressive castle I ever visited :
Beaumaris Castle, Wales

Built in order of King Edward.It was designed by James of St. George ( the one who also designed Harlech, and more ) and was begun in 1295. Although it never completed, it had fulfill its mission !

One of the most beautiful and harmonic castle I had seenn was Tarascon, already posted on page 15

And one of the most authentic castle I seen ( very often)
is Lichtenberg ( Oberstenfeld, Germany )

I like the historicist castles & residences of Holland, though they're pretty rare - in contrast to such in Germany. We have felt-like zillions of them, most are really geil.
