“French romances occupy a central position in the development of medieval European
literature. Their most popular subject matter by far was the Arthurian legend, which, though it
had its origins elsewhere, was first cast in romance form in France: the Round Table, the
tragic love story of Lancelot and Guinevere, and the notion of the Grail quest were all French
innovations."

Just beautiful :')

By the way, those Russian palaces are extremely beautiful as well. It is a wonder that most of them were built during a certain period of time during Russia's history, they were the symbols of the strength and prowess of the Russian people, and so they still show that same quality today.

Love the reconstructed AMBER ROOM in Tsarkoe Selo Palace. Supposedly it was going to cost $150 million to recreate it, but it turned out to be more like $11 million. Wonder if the Germans ever find the crates with the Amber Room contents at the bottom of the Baltic if they'll get to keep it.... since it was originally a gift from Frederick the Great.

Also, love the video's showing the evolution of the Palace of Versailles... wonder if they'll do one on the Louvre, with an even longer building history.

Another beautiful building is the Munich Residenz.... especially the Antiquarium (where the state government of Bavaria holds their functions of state)... and the Reichen Zimmer with their wonderful Rococo decorations. When it comes to German palaces, Hitler was smart in removing the interiors of all German palaces (as best they could) towards the end of the war. Sadly other countries didn't have the time or the luxury of doing so.
