A couple of pix of Läckö castle taken from Wikimedia commons.







Take look at this pic for the midievel fansy toilett. Its the little part sticking out from the facade without floor. One better be careful while walking under there.

Just awesome,tack! I think even only the Stockholm itself & area around it has,what,10-20 different castles & palaces?

Anyway,I like Kalmar slott most.

Gamla Uppsala is really interesting. But there are no castle/palace/ruin there that I know about but. Its more of a archelogical site just like Birka. Doesnt it origin from the same era? ...or even older?. Maybe it deserve its own thread someday together with other norse mythology remainings we have like the runestones, shipwreck graves etc.

Here are some pictures from Stockholm taken by myself yesterday.


Axel Oxelstjärna palace. Built 1653. It was supposed to be part of a bigger palace complex but this is all that was built. Today its more of a small city block within the old center in Stockholm
Notice the floors with only half the hight. That was for the staff.

Ekholmen. Built 1686 with a outer facade remodeling 1857.

Nedraby churchruin.



Södra Härene churchruin.



Njurunda churchruin. Should be around 700 years old. Became a ruin after the lightning hit the church back in 1869.



Selångers church ruin. Built between 1200-1300.

Tureborg. Built as late as 1899 and destroid in a fire 1950. Today only a ruin.
