Kansas City Missouri - august through dec. 2009

have a listen to some music, if you want -

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3_T7vyWoSwo

Here's the set of my photos that came out halfway decent from August through December, 2009.

1) Mere coincidence that a cat photo was one of the first likable shots I took in August. Sorry.

great set. I'm a big fan of your work after seeing your new york thread you posted here. great updates. KC has never looked better.

if you dont mind me asking what type of camera do you have? and what do you use to process these photos? you are honestly my favorite photographer I have seen on SSC and would love to hear any advise you are willing to offer.

Hi, Joe. For now I shoot with my Canon 5D (original version) that I've been using since mid 2007. Very soon hopefully I'm planning to upgrade to the 5D Mark 2 and retire my current camera to back-up, second-shooter duty. I also carry around several accompanying lenses as well. It's the glass and the variety of it that helps a great deal to make a photographer's portfolio, really.

I do tend to use a lot of HDR/tone mapping processing in my pics, some more blatantly than others, and not always, but often. Some people love it and some people hate it, but so be it. HDR isn't going anywhere except more into the mainstream despite what some what try and have everyone believe.

i wish i could afford a 5d. it seems that most of my favorites seem to be using that model. so i definitely know what way to go why i get some funding one day. and personally i love hdr. yours are subtle imo but very effective.

It's arguably the best on the market for landscape (both urban and nature), portrait and wedding work. If you're into sports or wildlife photography, you'd probably want something with quicker frames-per-second like the 7D or the 1D Mark 3 or 4. Of course this is all just in terms of Canon. Throw Nikon's lineup into the debate and it gets that much more complicated.

i mostly just do landscape and a little bit of portrait photography. but your at least the 4th or 5th person i have seen you a 5d. i have liked the results that people have gotten from them.
