The Church of the Holy Trinity (Црква Свете Тројице / Crkva Svete Trojice), XV'th century, is a monument of the Morava School. In 1718 the Austrian army occupied the area, and the monastery was used as a powder storage. In an accidental explosion, the nartex of the church was destroyed. As the Austrian authorities in 1719 gave the order that Serbian people can not repair their churches, the reconstruction of that part of the church could be done only many years later.

Ferhadija Mosque in Banja Luka (Bosnia) was probably one of the nicest mosques in Bosnia, it was blown up by Serbs in the early stages of the Bosnian war. It was constructed in 1579, today its being reconstructed:

its being reconstructed using the old stones and pillars that were left after the explosion. (pics are a little old, construction is slow since most of the old stones had to be recut, reshaped, and molded to fit) It will again be one of the greatest mosques in Bosnia.

putting architecture of croatia and slovenia in the same group with the balkan region is artificial in my opinion. They have different roots. Culture borders don't line with geographic ones in this region. We could, though, compare the preromanesque architecture of croatia and slovenia with the rest of the balkans.
anyway, nice pics

Some paintings like Studenica or Nerezi are impressive, and in fact, a Giotto's precedent.
