Tallest is 163.2m AGL so will pull the cluster over to the East surpassing Pan P in height.

what's most interesting is that this is seen as the first phase of the redevelopment of cubitt town. you have various other towers, albeit it lower heights, that will also be revealed for the area in due course. let's hope it doesn't end up millennium quarter mark 2.

That would include the large ASDA redevelopment with its 30fl block as part of it I presume . It seems to have been stuck in pre-planning hell for years now. I'm guessing its not going to be off the highest quality.
From Crossharbour downwards could also do with being redeveloped as well. 80's red brick builds don't quite stand the test of time. |

yeah, god knows what is happening with ASDA. got fed up following it as it's just a long running mess of a development. and then you have angel house on the other side of the road acting there as the other part of the gateway... we won't be seeing that any time soon i think.

I quite like how they echo a bit of De Stijl in the colours.

I don't like those buildings, they seem so eastern europe buildings. I think Canary Wharf needs more tall buildings, but with a classic style, or an elegant touch, like in Manhattan.

Personally I'm all for it- it modernises the grey/silver backdrop.
They've allowed for public open space on the site which is a rarity. I like the whole Dubaiesque feel to it- and the massing works well with the local tall buildings! |

What the red part is real. I just assumed it was rending error.

Its terracotta. I spoke with the architects and it won't be that bright.

Did they say whether this would be phased and any idea when they would start it? They don't look like big developers so I don't hold out hope they will develop this anytime soon. |

The red/terracotta walls would look better with some windows. They'd be approx South facing and give that premium view over Greenwich. It'd be a waste as it is ...

Hmmm I would much prefer a striking contemporary Red that would add something different to the cluster. I fear that terracotta could end up fusing with so much of the rather (sub) standard build around this area and therefore become too anonymous despite its size, instead of helping to create a much needed signature.

good point. Maybe they are anticipating something else in the way of the view? Is Wood Wharf due to sit in this location?

Looks like it's gonna be those awful brick-shaped terracotta tiles if the renders are anything to go by. They're bad enough on a small scale, let alone on a 100m+ blank wall

Going by what London Lad said, the AGLs should be 163m and 137m for Tower 2. 163m is a good height, it's the first building in the Wharf in the 160m-170m range. I hope the designs evolve though.

Everytime I don't log on for a week or two something substantive comes along, I like this project immensely.
