This was the best I could do at that moment but here is the colour scheme for the exterior train carriages of TfL Rail.

Taken at Romford last week. They are still using the current stock but just giving them a fresh paint job inside and out.

Did they announce what rolling stock they plan to replace them with?

Did they make detailed specifications? I am curious because I found the Class 378 trains quite poor in terms of comfort (unusual in England, where trains tend to be in my experience quite comfy as compared to the continent).

Not yet, but we know how many trains will be: 39 four-car EMUs, with 30 required for the Cheshunt and Chingford routes, 8 for the Gospel Oak to Barking, and 1 for the Romford to Upminster line

I have no idea, only what I have read on District Dave & Rail UK (not that I am a bit of a geek or anything)

From LeeLivery on RailUK Forum: LO said on twitter they are "thinking" long+2 for the new train order. Not bad I guess

TfL Rail are using a different stock of trains to London Overground.

LO have ordered more Class 378 Capitalstar trains for their new routes out of Liverpool Street Station. TfL Rail will carry on using the same the Class 315 (PIC above) as they always have on the Liverpool Street to Shenfield route but just giving it a new lick of paint. They will have to use them by 2018 so it then becomes "Crossrail". Yeah that train seems so tiring to be in but hopefully TFL can make them look more appealling and change those awful seat cushions.

They have not ordered more Class 378s. As mentioned above, it is out to tender and could be one of a number of manufacturers. Shortlisted are Siemens, CAF, Bombardier and Hitachi.

Even if Bombardier win it will probably be a different train, as the Class 387s are supposed to be the last of the Electrostar family built, being replaced by their new Aventra platform.

Bombardier have won the tender for the Crossrail (TfL Rail) part, and these trains will be Aventras, designated Class 345.

I must ask, was the Abellio Greater Anglia service that bad out of Liverpool Street because I am seeing a lot of complaints about the service?

And little remark for daily commuters - Cambridge Heath and London Fields stations ARE NOT served by the Chingford services:

So within the next six months, the Class 315 will get a full makeover in TFL Rail and London Overground Branding? Exterior and Interior? Thank god for that.

Abellio really made those trains unappealing and didn't even bother with trying to make them look well presented.
