Thanks. Is this the mooted route that was brought up a year or so ago, or is it now in the full planning stage?

Also, is this part of Crossrail1 or 2?

Barking to Gospel Oak Overground line to shut for eight months to allow electrification upgrade works
25th January 2016

The Barking to Gospel Oak line is to close for eight months from June for a major upgrade costing £130million

Commuters of the busy but neglected route face far longer journeys by alternative services. Many will have to use the District, Victoria or Northern lines to get near their destinations and then rely on a bus. This means 30 to 60 minutes’ extra travel each way

The comments on there are fantastic - do they think you can just wave a magic wand and its all done? If it ends up with an improved service and less overcrowding then its worth it.

A weird question- does anyone know how big the font typically is on the underground map?
Clearly depends on the size of the map, but I mean the 'standard' as you may see on a sheet of A4.

Just curious about how small public signage goes and the underground seems an example of somewhere particularly small.

It's mostly by those who simply have no idea how construction/infrastructure works. Rome wasn't built in a day and work like this takes a lot of time, safety and planning. If the pay off means a better service and accessibility for passengers, please do it. With TFL taking over most south London rail routes, its a good improve. They did great with the old and poor Silverlink. REMEMBER THEM!!

A part of the North London line closed between February and June 2010 so that it could accommodate 4 car trains, and also to make space for the East London line extension that opened in March 2011.
