Lovely architectural mix ...

Hope the Olympics left a good legacy in Vancouver.

You took a picture of it. Does that shed any light on it?

Every time I look at photos of Vancouver, they evoke images of a big, vibrant, sophisticated city. Every time I have a friend come back from a visit, they say it's gorgeous, but doesn't really have that big city feel yet.

Do Vancouverites feel like their city is still lacking that quality? On the other hand, Vancouver is growing so quickly. The city is really on the cusp of coming into its own. Perhaps, when Vancouver gets to around 3,000,000 things will start to gel. Is this an accurate honest portrayal?

i've noticed more so this year that downtown is finally really feeling more lively i don't know if its an olympic effect or the fact that so much is completed now and there are more pockets of people around who get about on foot and bicycles etc.

Canada line has also really brought more people into the city to hang out - cause its so easy to get into the city now - people who lived in east van who probably only went to oakridge can now say hey skip that we'll go downtown

i think the olympics which brought lots of locals into downtown who frankly hadn't been in years saw a city that they liked and probably visit more now too and there are cafes popping up all over the place and finally nightclubs and bars etc and there are more places to hang out - woodwards has really changed that area - new dinner spots open almost weekly it seems - i never thought i'd see a hip spot on hastings - where acme has opened - there are big plans for the save-on-meats place too - some new eatery...

so anyway yeah i have definately noticed the city more lively and feeling like a city - before it was granville and robson centric now its spreading ven north granville i have never seen so much life on it

as for the pic - i don't know i think its art! its odd and random though
