You should make two lists, one with the spires and one with the domes. They are not comparable

One thing I'll never understand is, why don't people ever call the Esztergom basilica by its name? The St. Adalbert's Primatial Basilica, or even Basilica of the Assumption.

De Domtoren, Utrecht

Tower of Utrecht Dom (former Catholic cathedral, is now a Protestant church and it became so in 1580, time of the Protestant Reformation). Separated from the church by a storm in 1674.

Great thread

Here is St. Sava tample in Belgrade (82m). Construction started in 1935, and the interior is still unfinished, but is used for important events.

Thanks for the pics everyone!

As for the missing countries, still haven't found much info... Anyone?

For Luxemburg, my best bet would be the Notre Dame de Luxembourg, at 51 m tall:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...s_in_the_world

Some of those churches or church-towers listed there have collapsed though.

And here's the wikipedia list in german language, which doesn't include collapsed churches or tower:

http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liste_d...BCrme_der_Welt

and here the google translation into english:
http://translate.google.de/translate...n&hl=&ie=UTF-8

That one also has pictures of most listed churches
