CAROLINA | SITRAC Multimodal Transportation Center | Pro
As part of our interest to participate in the innovative Public-Private Partnerships’ projects, we have developed a design for a Multimodal Transportation Center. The program we worked with included a light-train station, a bus station, spaces for taxis, a commercial strip, a multi-level parking structure, administrative offices, and communal areas. A dynamic and contemporary design is used to establish visual impact and the importance of the public transportation system.

A multi-modal terminal is exactly what is needed at Hato Rey. AcuaExpreso, Regional and commuter trains, Tren Urbano, AMA, regional buses, publicos, and taxis (and light rail if there would ever be a line through there) all under one roof.

i would like something to the effect of South Station in Boston.. it has everything that Island said but is sort of big. not too big, but big enough.
i think this Center has all the workings, but is pretty uninspiring. however, it is a ginormous step froward anyway.

That looks like it could be built at Sagrado Corazón station. That will be the transfer station to the tram and it's also a bus terminal.
Judging by the design though it looks like it was for the Caguas light rail proposal. There's something about this that reminds me of the Caguas light rail. |

You could easily put it at the Acua Expreso terminal in Hato Rey. It's a perfect location, walking distance to the Golden Mile offices, right next to TU, a ton of AMA buses, and Acua Expreso.

Last edited by yosoyelrey; February 23rd, 2010 at 04:32 PM. |
