I love that little side street. When I go back I may go to the barbers there and get a shave. Are you still going down to the mount for the 19th? We might be be going there aswell. I just need to get leave off work for it.

Great seeing you the other day btw again thanks for high tea

I'm breathless while looking at these pictures. the colonial architecture,
the cute little shops and the old-fashioned trams are utterly amazing.
The city is so clean and well maintained.

Christchurch is one city in NZ I'd love to visit sometimes in the future! Akaroa and the Banks Peninsula also look lovely, too.

Interesting to see little bits of French influence and that French flag in Akaroa. If I recall well enough, that's because a bunch of French did settle there in the 1830s/40s, even though the British got their hands on NZ first.

The pics that I have shown is probably the "worst" part of town, there are other areas which I found far more quaint, vibey and trendy - especially along the river and the main city drag (pics forthcoming) ... it is awesome Thanks for your comment mate, I always look forward to reading you

There are so many great towns that you have to see. I met a fantastic Canadian couple from Vancouver Island a few days ago and they loved Queenstown, Napier, Whakatane (where they now want to move to - I haven't been there yet but I will go there next weekend) and of course Christchurch.

You are absolutely correct about Akaroa, I often wonder how different NZ would have been if the French colonized NZ .... I think that it would have been far more sophisticated
