Singapore is great, everything about a trip with them is fantastic (service, stopping over in Changi etc.) - totally agree with you.

What's "1 2 Go" though?

So if you last used Qantas 14 years ago, don't you think it voids your view that they have old aircraft?

I used to despise Qantas until the last two times I used them.

Last Sept did Melbourne-LA return with them and they were FANTASTIC. And last week Sydney-Melbourne return and were very good too.

I think they are improving.

Airline experience can depend on various things. I remember flying Malaysia Airlines to Beijing via KL a few years ago and the Melb>KL flight was amazing. However the flight from KL to Beijing was terrible. The plane looked like it was 20+ years (it was an Airbus IIRC), and it was cold, turbulance, and the only meal I got on the 5hr flight was a tuna roll. The engines also made a really worrying noise during take off and asent, like nothing I had heard before (or since) on a plane. It was a really high pitched, electric humming. Like a powerdrill struggling to get through a brick.

I've been traveling on KE (Korean Air) for the past three years and have used Delta/Northwest.

DL great customer service, decent food, but need to modernize their planes.

KE has excellent in-flight entertainment and modernized interior on their widebody planes. While the customer service is good----the staff could be more personable. But my guess is it's simply the Korean culture. The food is pretty good but I do wish they offered American portions for drinks and such. Layovers are also a bit to long, KE you can get more miles per trip with other airlines. Despite the minor issues---I'm sticking with KE for my travels to SE Asia.
