The flamboyant colors remind me of Hindu Temples that extensively use glazed porcelain. The inside seems to show "inner calm" though.

that moaque is magnificent! I wish they would do something about Globo de Oro in Manila and the Blue Mosque in Maharlika Village, Taguig.

The INC Tabernacle Multi-purpose Hall

Built in less than a year’s time, this tent-like structure now lends greater grandeur to the Iglesia ni Cristo Central Office complex. Built on a land area of more than 5 000 square meters at the right side of the Central Temple, it complements the majesty of the former.

The idea of constructing the Tabernacle was hatched in the early months of 1988, when the Executive Minister thought of the need to put up a building where the faithful could congregate for whatever purpose. It is to be called as such – Tabernakulo – to depict the place where God’s wandering children during the Old Testament times used to gather and offer praises and sacrifices to Him.

Thus, the INCECD CAD (Computer-Aided Design) group conductive numerous perspective studies of a tent-like structure that could accommodate as many as 4 000 persons. In the last week of July, coinciding with the Church’s 74th anniversary celebration, the architectural blue print was finalized and was submitted for approval.

On August 5, 1988, its construction had begun. The INCECD battery of engineers, carpenters, masons, steel tinkers, and construction aids – more than 700 of them – commenced the building of yet another structure which together with the Central Office and the Central Temple, will accentuate Quezon City skyline.

The challenge is formidable. And the factor where challenge dominantly rests is time. Every INCECD man very well knows that he needs to be help in the making of a 22.5-meter high building with a total floor area of 4182.96 square meters in less than 12 months.

There is no choice but to overcome the challenge. And the challenge is willingly accepted for the target date of completion is of enormous significance – July 27, 1989 – the Church’s Diamond Anniversary,

For days and nights, the construction men labored in shifts and patiently weathered disparate tasks, worked on 2335 cubic meters of concrete, shaped and harnessed 1 347 664 board feet of lumber, tinkered 849.25 tons of structural steel frames, placed 4 949 square meters of G.I. sheets, and brushed with 11,840 liters of paint.

The result is an elegantly-designed multi-purpose hall standing with 48 solid one-meter diameter concrete and cement posts.

The Tabernacle came out to be a well-ventilated enclosed stadium with a main floor, two-level bleachers and a balcony with spaceship-like stairways. It has a stage which measures 200 square meters. It has two audio-video control booths equipped with computerized audio-visual gadgets. It also has several function rooms.

In the ceiling were installed 106 bulbs of pin lights and 19 circular bulbs of metal halides thus effecting snowy and crystal-clear brightness that resembles the sunlight which passes through an even, thick and cotton-white clouds – a type of brightness that is cool to the eyes. In it were also entrenched two-inch diameter ropes placed in a vertical and parallel manner and were made to emanate from the center piece. The consequent image is a dynamic movement of light from above.

When we see a structure rise from a once barren ground, we seldom think of the men who were behind its construction, the ones who intrepidly braved the heights, the heat and the cold. Its time for us to render our salute to them as we continue to express our thanks to the Almighty who always guides them

If by "soft material" you mean fabric or plastic, no it's not. It's 4,949 square meters of G.I. sheets, and painted to look like a tent.

Magaganda talaga yung mga design ng mga church ng INC. Para silang mga replica ng San Sebastian. One of my favorite e yung nasa papuntang Nagtahan...bago ata yun renovated.

They share Gothic sensibilities...

Ah, you must mean the kapilya for the local congregation of Pandacan along Quirino Highway. The one with the asymmetrical towers? I like the interior of that one. It's got a parabolic shell that makes it look very Gothic.

Glenn Macaspac has a picture of that too... This one was taken in 2002. I don't know the color schemes now with the recent renovation. Here it is...

Yes. That's it. Nadadaan ko kase yan tuwing papasok sa trabaho kaya nasubaybayan ko yung renovation nito...the grandeur of this building was back again. I'm speechless when it comes to INC's maintenance

the elevator is one main reason that this church was called most modern..
That must be humongous! The total seating capacity is 7,000! Bigger than what most of our convention centers and stadiums can hold! What's the total floor area?

What's our largest convention center? PICC? Maybe the plenary hall can seat 3,500. Yup, some of our churches have seating capacity bigger than that.

Ang simbahang ito ay halos birhen na birhen pa. Wala masyadong modipikasyon na nangyari sa simbahan na ito pwera na lamang sa bintana at sa loob nito. Pero mayorya sa estraktura nito ay "in-tact" pa.

Church of Anini-y, Antique

Located some 80 kilometers out of Iloilo City, this town is the southernmost among all in the island of Panay. What facinates me though is that despite being the center of the strong earthquakes that toppled some of the magnificent churches in Panay, it is still standing as it was when it was finished more than a century ago.

Simplicity at its finest!
