Sorry everyone who is not Egyptian, we apprecate you here, but this an important decision for the future of our forum, that is why the decision should be in the hands of the local forumers. Other forumers are however welcome to post any suggestions, but they cannot vote.


Hi Everyone,

The forum has been expanding recently, and we've all been campaigning for a SkyBar section, and the admins have agreed to allow us to have one. Congratulations guys, you deserve it

This poll will decide the name of our SkyBar section. Here are your options:

Pharaoh's Cafe
Sky Ahwa
Nile Lounge
Shisha Lounge

4 options are more than enough, infact I hesitated to put 4, 3 could have been enough, Considering the number of people who will be voting.

I chose these options after looking at past threads and posts, and these seem to be the most popular choices.

The poll will be open for 10 days only.

I will gradually move all the SkyBar type threads there, as soon as this poll ends. I moved one thread there for just now.

This vote is extremely important, I hope all of you take the time to vote here, so please, please do not ignore this. I cannot stress how important it is for ALL Egyptian Forumers to vote. Thankyou

Personally, I voted for Sky Ahwa.



This is because, out of all the options, Sky Ahwa is thee most Authentically Egyptian one, and has our own identity. The Ahwa has culturally, and traditionally, been the typical Egyptian hang out spot, relaxation spot, for more than 100 years now. We all see most Egyptians in thier leisure time head down to the nearby Ahwa, smoke some shisha, drink some green tea, and play Tawla (Backgammon).



The rest "Pharos Cafe" and "Nile lounge" sound far too cliche to me, and not Egyptian enough. It sounds like a typical tacky tourist trap cafe! Not Egyptian at all! The only one of the rest that would be slightly acceptable to me, is Shisha Lounge, and even that, is not as Egyptian as Sky Ahwa IMO.


Anyways, thats just my opinion, you guys are completely free to choose whatever you see best.

Ok, about the SkyBar section.

You know how we have a "Projects & Construction" and "Photo Forum" section ??

The new Skybar section is where you can post off-topic discussions and general talk, such as the Chit Chat thread, sports and random news articles. Just like an informal discussion, about anything really.

Most other forums have one, for example the Moroccan forum have the "Moorish Cafe", the Algerian Forum has "La Khaima" and the general Africa forum has "The Oasis"...You can check those out to get an idea of what a SkyBar section looks like.

As soon as our poll is complete, we will rename the SkyBar section to the chose Egyptian style name.

Nah dont worry, you can ask as many questions as you like

As for the answer, yes, the current off-topic threads will be moved there once the name is chosen, and from then on, all off topic threads should be stated there.

Sky Ahwa is Good but TBH it give me bad connotation. I have bad experience in the Egyptians Ahwas :P

Nile Lounge seemed a bit general to me as Egypt isn't the only country with Nile so I would like the name to be special and part of our culture in a away so I went for Pharaoh's Cafe.
