What is your huge rush for this project? You buy a unit here, or something? You seem desperate for it to go up asap. We've seen about a billion towers go up in the past decade here, so I guess I'm not really hanging on the start time for most new projects.
No, I haven't purchased a unit; This is my most anticipated project in the city, so I'm just eager to see it rise.

I don't think we'll see a crane going in here until at least late spring.

looks exactly the same as it did on Wednesday.. except the porta-potty and shipping crate have been moved to the other side of the site, with the dirt pile appearing.

the gap in between seems rather small no?
for a condo like that to be built.. are they going to demolish the building beside it # 220 ?.. as they are keeping ( thank God ) the Royal Alex... the staircase needs to have a little more space allotted to it.. before any building is built beside it.

It'll be a real sliver of a tower, that's for sure. The lot's only 60 ft across.

^ that is crazy!...
it is sooo freakin' narrow.. would hate to live in that building.. I'd be afraid of it turning into the tower of Pisa...

they should have just built a regular sized stand alone Swiss Chalet restaurant.. to replace the one they closed down a few doors down..
that would have made more sense.. and it would have been awesome for business.. more visible. as that one was hidden in that building.

just looked back at the renderings...

this picture of the Penthouse:

imagine living in it.. paying all that money.. with all those criss cross bars surrounding / blocking the view..
kinda annoying...
but.. I shouldn't judge until the final construction is done..

It is quite beautiful in that rendering... but you are correct; living in the unit would be annoying having so much of the view blocked.

First of all, the penthouse is only one floor so very little of it's view will be blocked. Second, a Swiss Chalet instead of this gorgeous tower? Are you crazy?

Maybe the penthouse will be a fancy-schmancy Swish Chalet!

Maybe the penthouse will be sold at a slightly discounted price.

I am seriously laughing.. !!!..
oh my..lol!.. was just suggesting it.. I think it funny it is being debated on!..
hillarious!...

ya.. it is quite a nice building.. but I think it should be double the size to balance it all out.. but.. I still say.. those criss cross bars are too many!

just a thought: maybe the bars are not for aesthetics purposes from the outside but more of a necessity to support the building.

Penthouse is below the set-back. That part up there, according to the videos, is public space. Unless they were just showing off a party or something. Take a look at the video posted a couple pages back. The outer bars look fantastic from the inside.

what's the delay with this one? Construction was to begin on November 15. It would be nice if they could get the hole dug before the ground freezes. I wonder if that chained link fence is part of the public art component? It's a nice touch.

That last photo makes it clear that construction is imminent. That equipment wasn't there last week.

No way will that be public space. I can't think of any condo that allows non residents to access a roof unless they're friends of a dweller. Brad Lamb will be living in the penthouse, so I assume the people shown in the video represent the parties he'll be having on the roof top.

One would hope so, but look how long equipment was at the 1 Bloor site before it got underway. Hopefully we'll see some steady progress soon.

Does anyone know how far below grade this one will go?
