I never understood why they started it in the first place. Its not like there arent enough half finished projects so why did they start it after the crisis.

This project needs serious round of fresh money to accelerate, however one should think it advisable for the developer to settle ones debts and contractual obligations first. The list of clients and contractors being owed is extensive and Dubai Pearl has many court cases to deal with. I believe it will rise one day, however some house cleaning is needed first.
