.....very few workers also on these pictures. Now why is that? Well, you actually have to pay contractors to make them mobilize and actually work. And to generate cash flows you need to sell units and in order to sell units you need a flawless reputation with investors, rather than abusing the legal system to delay the inevitable payment. Dubai Pearl may not realize that the pace of construction is a factor of how you treat all the stakeholders on the project. If you treat them badly it will reflect - as can be seen - on project progress.

Dubai Pearl and their Unhappy Master Developer
Another lesson in what happens when you are not treating clients and partners well can be read in Arabian Business today. The Chairman of Leighton Holdings is quite displeased about his post crisis involvement in Dubai. This very much includes Dubai Pearl, which according to Mr. Al Habtoor is owing the Leighton JV millions.
An unhappy Master Developer does not bode well for construction progress. http://www.arabianbusiness.com/leigh...ke-458609.html The question is, if giants such as Habtoor Leighton is not being paid, no wonder small investors are left in the lurch. |

You must have sharper eyes than I. Judging from the cranes this does not look promising at all. But are we surprised? These guys just stopped paying 1/3 down our contract and next thing you know, almost 2 years have passed with them in court.....making lame excuses such as the financial crisis being 'force majeure'.
I wonder what stories they are telling investors and contractors now? Workers busy celebrating progress at a beach party? |

June has arrived and we are half way through, yet Imre only reports of bogus 'progress' with less than a cricket team worth of workers hovering around. Some insight please, people waiting to get paid and some people are waiting to get their aparment....somewhere south of 2015 that is.... |

Progress? Where are the workers? Cranes not being used, building materials neatly stacked. This project is ON HOLD because there is no money to pay....
