Really impressive stuff going on. Love this artifical lake, the new shopping mall and the skyline seems to grow as well. Lots of good quality there.

I don't think he meant to say it's just this picture that appealed to him, but it was the one he liked best (that took the cake).

But yeah indeed, Dortmund looks marvellous in those photos. It has its fair share of really ugly districts, but it really is an exception of the big Ruhr cities in many regards.

Indeed, i think Dortmund is no exception in the western of Germany. Dortmund was totally destroyed in 2.WW and have for sure ugly districts but also the districts of these pictures. The thread title is somewhat hypocritical, but the pictures shown here prove that Dortmund is wrongfully called one of the ugliest towns in Germany.

How can i change the thread title? Its was a relict of the culture capitel Ruhr2011! Well i never heard that Dortmund is one of the ugliest cities in Germany, its is an old industry city ok, but industry and grey the same like ugly?

After 5min journey time you are in the court district called Kaiserviertel with small old mansions, the court and the consulate of Italy. It is a nice district for students and singels.

I actually never thought much about it and I have never been there. For me Dortmund was just equal to the Ruhrgebiet and therefore my idea of it was rather negative.

Maybe Dortmund-Through My Eyes or Dortmund -in a change of time, so im not sure what is adapted.
