"Rosneft" will invest few hundreds of million dollars into hockey club "CSKA Moscow" and will help to build a new modern arena in Moscow. Construction will begin in 2013.

ROSTOV-ON-DON - Olimp 2 Stadium (15,840 -> 20,000)

The Olimp-2 Stadium of FC Rostov:

This is NOT for world cup. Olimp2 will be a training field during the WC-2018.

I think this project is no longer relevant. If not given WC 2018, then perhaps would have been realized. A training base for such a reconstruction is not needed at this time the stadium meets the requirements of UEFA. There was talk that when FC Rostov will move to a new arena, Olimp would give to SKA Rostov, but he recently went bankrupt. Also heard talk that perhaps will play rugby club in the future.

No, it doesn't. Rubin wanted to play home Europa League match against FC Twente, but the UEFA rejected. So, stadium still needs a some upgrade.

Also, Rostov's goverment said that new stadium will be built anyway either Rostov will host WC2018 or not.

Training base - it's a good field, locker rooms and the hotel, everything. Capacity of the stadium and indoor stands does not affect it, even panel is not required. What is the point to reconstruct Olimp stadium? (20-30 million euro?), If the money can build several training bases? This is nonsense.

this is Russia. Also, don't forget about SKA Rostov (SKA-SKVO stadium is VERY old and worn-out)
(i don't know will this project be realised)

Torpedo died too. But now it's alive

AEG to bring Moscow’s ‘Galactica’ dream to life

Arena owner and operator AEG Facilities has signed a 'multi-year exclusive agreement' with Russian developer ZAO Rusinkom to provide consultation for the 'Galactica Park' Moscow arena development.

AEG, which counts the O2 in London and O2 World Berlin amongst its portfolio of venues, will provide consultation services for the design, development and operations of the planned 20,000 seated capacity multi-use arena in Moscow, which will host concerts, professional hockey and other sports events, conferences and exhibitions.

The US firm will also support Galactica Park arena operations through its venue services department which will include identifying naming rights and sponsorship opportunities, development of ticketing, venue programming and marketing initiatives, sales of VIP suites, arena management and operational support.

Scheduled to open in 2018, Galactica Park will be the home to attractions which include an indoor Universal Studios theme park, an indoor Universal Studios water park, a dining, shopping and entertainment complex, two hotels with 1100 room capacity, 250 metre-tall office towers, a 120,000 square meter retail shopping complex and four levels of underground parking.

Brian Kabatznick, AEG Facilities European vice president of business development, said: “AEG has targeted Moscow as the most significant market in Europe to develop new facilities and increase entertainment events. The new Galactica Park development will ensure that Moscow is at the forefront of a unique destination similar to those in Los Angeles and London.”

Amazing project!

But I really doubt that Moscow need another big arena like this one.

I thought they played in Dynamo Stadium

The Khazar Stadium is not very luxurious considering the wealth of their owner. What will it look like when it is finished?
