Exactly what I was gonna say. SO MUCH better!!!!!! Uuufffff finally! There's still room for improvement, but I can live with this. The earlier monstrosities will have to be refinished at some point. Just horrid.

Those look pretty good. There are some much improved designs Ive seen for them the last few days...I saw these on the Govt. Press Agency website as well, Im not sure if its Lideta or where they are located though:

Even the color scheme is 100x better, forget the design.

They're still incredibly ugly and will be an eye sore in the future but definitely an improvement over the current slums. I wish the designers/engineers and the builders would all go to a different country for a week or so just to learn how construction is done. It doesn't even have to be in the developed world. A city like Luanda can teach these incredibly undereducated folks on how to build a city. Original renders rarely match the finished product in Addis. Lol!

This look like light steel construction. Is this goverment built too? They just need to work on the color.

Thanks for posting. It's a huge project.

What is wrong with ETV, Walta, etc? My $100 point and shoot camera shoots 1000% better quality video than this. Unbelievable.

abesha my mobile phone can take better quality footage than this,, I dont know what kind of outdated camera they are using... that's what happens when one TV station take monopoly of the air wave,,no competition means no quality,,,in every thing not only TV.

The poor quality is due to high compressing of the original video source to minimize the file size.

This is what I mean by density! I'm not fond of the individual block layout, but this is a big step in the right direction. But this isn't in the old airport grounds.

But I'd like to see all the slums south of this area razed. Give the land between the ring road and road running through the airport to the golf course.

And of course the final product will look nothing like the original render. I think Addis might be the only place in the world where those two will never match. Lol!
