I have never been to Argentina, so I ask how does EZE compare to the best airports in Asia, such as SIN or ICN? As a fan of airports, I would very much like visit EZE in the near future, but I cannot find many experiences of the airport on YouTube.

Yes, I once wondered why CX did not fly HKG-EZE until I worked out it is actually a 23hr flight. Clearly not possible, and even if it was, not financially viable unless you do something like HKG-LAX-EZE.

In fact CX have outright refused to join the '6 continents club', as they don't see South America as having high enough yields.

... and Mexico is still in North America, lest the tectonic plates have shifted dramatically.

The main terminal itself, consisting of check-in, baggage and security, is awesome, one of my favorite terminals. Maybe not luxury-wise, but aesthetically/architecture-wise it is. You can find good pics in this thread I believe, for sure at Airliners.net.

Once you get beyond security, the boarding areas aren't great, but they keep the international carriers' areas in decent shape. Not as new as the main terminal, but not bad either. They have glass jetways, which always excite me as an American. Shopping is your typical duty-free, nothing really special.

But as you can see, they are constructing new boarding areas, so check back in later this year.

Oh, forgot to add that the airfield isn't in very good shape, lots of potholes and patched concrete, both taxiways and runways.

As I alluded to earlier, they have really old radar, making pilots fly in old-school style. The FAA still has them as a Cat II country for aviation, and the EZE airfield shows why.

They need to fix that at the soonest...

It reminds me Santos Dumont in Rio de Janeiro (except that the view when landing/taking off at SDU is the best in the world, and that SDU is across the street from downtown, but AEP is less chaotic and has international flights).

I used this airport about a year ago, it is very convenient and comfortable, a bit dark on the street-level floor. But pretty good.

Although I've never been to the airport it also reminds me of London City Airport (LCY).
