No Flo, not unbelievable. As I suggested on another thread once before, the speed of construction can actually be faster than the time it takes to carry out all the internal fitting out works.

It is always good - within reason - to see the final finishings being carried out slowly, and with appropriate care, rather than being rushed. Purchasers are invariably going to be happier as a result.

dubaiflyer i knew this was to come
and i am fully aware of that..
nevertheless they are working on both interior and exterior, and not actual construction, for at least 8 months now.

i was especially referring to the exterior and facade which takes veeery long.
anyway it is not that long actually, you are right.

Great looking tower. But if it blocks my sea-view from my apt. in the Torch, I will swiftly withdraw that statement, and shall be writing a stern letter of complaint to the tower. No, not to the developers, but to the tower itself. Other than that, great looking tower.

i like the fact you are slowly discovering other threads in SSC

well in fact this tower is very slim, it will affect your sea view, but not the same extent emirates crown or princess do.

Well....slowly but surely, as they say. I mean, hell, the Torch was my first ever investment in property abroad, so to say i was "bricking it" is an understatement! (bricking it means shitting it to all non UK residents! ). Thats why I was full-on in the Torch thread in my earlier days.

But as much as I envy all the "front-row" towers in front of the Torch, I really cant help admitting that I think they're all absolutely brilliant. They can only bring value and prestige to the whole area, like i've said before. Especially Le Reve, now that i've read up on it, its bloody unbelievably awsome for a residential, even by Dubai's standards!

Is it 2008 yet?

Naz, your previous rather obstreperous postings on the Torch thread made me pray that you would not discover any other SSC threads at all! But now it seems you have settled down, and realise the pleasure, entertainment and in-depth information about amazing Dubai that's available on this wonderful website. I trust you have also had a change of underpants!

It takes very big 'cahunas' to develop a building of this scale in which half the units are 6500 sq ft, and the other half 13000. The success of the project speaks volumes about the importance and quality of Dubai Marina as a location, and supports the values of all the surrounding developments. I would say that from your point of view (literally as well as figuratively) if the view from your Torch apartment includes one of the most exclusive residential towers anywhere in the world, then you may rest assured your investment was worthwhile!

Cheers for noticing Flyer! Exactly my point, if i'm within such close proximity to all these masterpieces (including the Torch itself!), then you're right, it is indeed money well spent!

Btw, I have been reading other threads for some time now but was only commenting on the Torch thread coz of vested interest. But i must admit my view has somewhat changed since the early days, its not about 1 tower being better than another, to me, its all about Dubai Marina...and how after all is said and done, it will arguably be the upmarket, affluent and most enviable residential location in Dubai.

emirates hills, well it is villa development, totally different to the Marina, but it does not have this community feeling imo.

the world , affluent , ok

living in Burj Dubai.. well...it's cool. not tooo expensive either.
but far away from the beach living style.

but i agree burj dubai (but of course only in burj dubai tower) would be more enviable than the marina. (except le reve ).

Oh and jumeirah one, yes you cannot beat it, especially if you are an expat

The World is not affluent, im sorry. Its super-rich...."Bill-gates, Lakshmi Mittal, Tiger Woods and Brad Pitt" territory. Its in a league of its own, end of story.

I was talking more down to earth. Accessible to all. You cant just say "oh i think i'll go over to the World for lunch today" now can you!

Burj Dubai is just one building. And yes, probably the most memorable tower in the whole of Dubai. But once again, its just a one-off. The Marina is residential in the truest sense, and its not full of one-offs, but many luxurious towers, frm studios to giant penthouses. You gotta look at the bigger picture, not just isolated developments which only 0.001% of the population will ever enjoy.

Le Reve Apartment snaps...

Hi Guys,

As promised, here are the pics of one of the Le Reve apartments. Its a display apartment furnished by the developers themselves. Again, these pictures have been taken by a friend of mine who was kind enough to give them to me

In no particular order...

Thats all for now guys. I'll be taking some shots of the Deira Metro construction site in a day or two, once i do, i'll post them asap

The world is not that expensive.

if you can afford le reve, you can easily afford an apartment in oqyania.

Service/community charges.... will be a lot more though
