this is a good story about a new 4D cinema in baghdad, it also talks about the decline of cinemas in baghdad due to pirated DVDs and satellite TV.

The exterior of the hotel looks hideous but the interior, well, im impressed they did a good job!

hideous is a harsh word, its not too bad...the decaying wood before was not appealing!

the glass doesnt look right with the rest of the building, they could have made it look a lot better. i dont know i guess its just my personal opinion.

Not only you mate, i was pissed off big time and shocked when i first saw the blue glass coming out of no where to replace 'shanasheel' ... it just doesnt fit !!

I think it was an effort to try and modernise the building but it flopped.

no it was an effort to do it the cheapest possible way.

that "blue tinted" window is about the cheapest double-glazed glass panel you can buy in bulk in Dubai. It is used there only for labourers housing and some cheap flats in sharjah.

but in Iraq... they use it for a 5 star hotel. I already mentioned this in a previous thread on the topic!

however, saying that, the interior seemed nice and tasteful (except the bed in the bedroom!). I am impressed.

haha i don't like the big red 'murano' fountain sculpture thing, looks like a christmas tree.
