I sort of disliked the golden thingie over the main entrance, well hard to explain, but it wasn't horrible but I still simply didn't "feel it." Other than that, I also disliked the square box nature of the building volumes.

On the other hand, I thought those "faded" windows were interesting, and even a cool feature, and the cladding on the black building was kinda cool too if not really exceptional. But I liked it overall.

All in all a more or less 50/50 thing for me, slightly more positive than negative. I like features such as that golden thing to make buildings more interesting and, in my eyes, enjoyable, but in this case it just didn't work out extremely well. In most cases, my taste would be to love "special features" like that, but this is an exception. Although maybe it could work if just done differently, maybe some other shape, etc.

But in my view, the square box building volumes also ruins alot. I miss more curves and general "playfulness" (or in other words daring to do something original and different) in quite a lot of Norwegian architecture and buildings.

Its not too bad actually. Perhaps they could have been more adventurous with the massing of the building as the box shapes are getting tiresome, although I love the golden-deconstuctivist-like entrance. It should look great on a clear winters day reflecting the snow on the ground.

The Tonstad School: It's okay but I always get annoyed when I see a building such as what you especially notice in the picture where you see part of the playground, I can't in such instances understand why they don't cut the building in half, and put one half on top of the other.

I just get annoyed about that as I think it's terrible land usage, does people think that there's endless, limitless amounts of land on this planet? Besides the very poor utilization of the property, I guess it was mostly okay even if nothing I personally find interesting..

Meierikvartalet, Mo i Rana
: All things considered, such as this being Mo i Rana, I think this project looks excellent and I really hope for Mo's sake that they manage to realize it!

Because part of the building is a publich bath and you would probably like to keep that separated from the school part.

Okay, then there's an actual reason for it being like it is, my bad... But would it be impossible to for example build a PT/Gym hall on top of a public bath? Just thinking out loud..
