!So, no it's not ! As far I know, in addition of the Berlin's store, there are Galeries Lafayette in Dubai (UAE) and in Casablanca (Morocco). There was also a store in New York on the 5th avenue, but it has been closed in 1994. Two new openings are planned in Shanghai and Macao (China). And there is a store in one of our overseas departement: In Fort-de-France (Martinique, Caribbean) |

Galeria mall is to open on November 25, 2010 in St. Petersburg, Russia
- one of the largest urban shopping malls of Europe (200 000 sq. meters total floor space, 93 000 sq. meters GLA), decorated with sandstone, built in eclectic / historicism style at the cost of half a billion USD. this thread is about department stores and not Malls. Nevertheless, I like the style of that mall. Beautiful indeed.

Just sayin'...
As a Minneapolis native, the stores in Minneapolis have no say in this discussion. Really. They are out of their league here. I'd say this is true of most American Department Stores. And yes, I have shopped in the original Macy's, Sak's, Bloomie's, etc. My personal experience would place KaDeWe well above Harrod's. Maybe even above Selfridges. But I realize that's coming from a tourist, so take it for what it's worth. (Probably nothing ) KaDeWe is astounding, and a beautiful store. But I also really like de Bijenkorf in Amsterdam. Although I have to say that de Bijenkorf was never at the level of KaDeWe or even Harrod's.But hey, I really liked all of them. I've spent way too much money in these stores anyway.

This country only has two architecturally nice department stores (both part of De Bijenkorf chain): The Hague and Amsterdam (both already posted).
