lol... i was in IRC around 1997 - 2000 on Efnet.
i missed all the channel wars sometime
it is where i learn about networking and stuffs hehehe.

oh i dont play nexia.. i used to try it for a while but cant cope with the lag.
i am playing counter strike: source & doom 3 currently. damn good!!

And on the road will be make "Orchad Road" like Orchad Road singapura.

Sudah sebulan jalan gatot subroto di depan medan fair plaza menjadi satu arah. Dan akan dibuat menjadi "Orchad Road" seperti Orchad Road singapura.

Yes Medan is interesting, especally its newest developments. The shopping mall architecture was amazing, so warm and well designed.

How is Medan economical development nowdays, Medan is large, but is more poor than other cities of this size as far as i know. Am i right?

I think Medan is the richest city in Sumatra, I dont know if Riau is in Sumatra too. If it doesnt then Medan is surely the richest in Mainland Sumatra. Compare to Other cities, Medan came no 3 after Jakarta and Surabaya.

Pringadi Hospital build 1970s. Thats a largerst #1 or #2 hospital area with several buildings. This year add build 8 floos in that area.

Rightnow medan has own Exclusice hostpital named : Gleaneagles Hospital with 7nd floors.

pipeline project University of North Sumatera Hospital with 8 floos will be build behind my house !! uggghhh

Thanx, hope it will become nice at least. Medan is a large city, but few of taller buildings. Why don't the city council built taller buildings, or a business or development areas as many other Indonesian cities?

most buildings in medan is "wide" not "tall" cos Airport in DownTown. We have policy with tall building.
New airport outside Medan still panding cos "Crisis moneter in Indonesia". Staring project 1997. Maybe 3 or 4 years later will be finish.

mmm.. maybe not exactly in downtown. Right in the CENTER of the city is more appropiate maybe hehehe.

i've a friend that is a student here. her house is within walking distance to the airport.

the argument of taking train here in Europe is train serves center-to-center. Means city center to city center compared to airlines which normally airport is located far from city center.
But MEDAN is really different. Bah!

i dont know why Polinia Airport build in city.
new airport will be take 2 hrs by car from medan.

During the time that Polonia was built, Medan was still a very small city thriving only on plantations back in the early 1920s. I believe the first International airlines to touch down Polonia was KLM on their very first intercontinental flight from Amsterdam to Batavia and vice versa.

I guess the city has just been developing around the airstrip.

Polonia, as I mentioned before, was not named after any National heroes in Indonesia - I believe this is the only major airport in Indonesia not named after some heroes or heroins. Instead, Polonia is named after its builders, the Polish people from Poland.
