i just discovered a strange thing: CTBUH says china has 213(!) buildings over 200m completed and T/O, respectively. i have to go through the threads ... i mean we have "only" 187 listed here! that's a difference of 26 buildings that are missing lol.

EDIT: please update the singapore figures, i quoted the list.

China data, 26 buildings is quite a discrepancy!

One has to be careful with that CTBUH data. For instance, it lists the highest floor for Marina Bay Sands Hotel 1, 2, & 3 at 194 m, while the overall height is 207 m. Unless one knew better, it might be assumed that the 13 m discrepancy was die to an antenna. Does CTBUH include antenna/spires when inputting a number for 'height'?

In this case, an actual roof was built 13 m above highest floor for these Singapore buildings. I almost didn't include these 3 Singapore buildings till I realized what each number was referring to.

Thank you sali_haci, and those pics look great. Unfortunately, I can't include them. Both Anthill buildings have a roof height of 195 m and a 15 metre antenna stuck on top. This is a roof height list.

The list is an attempt to gauge truer building heights by not allowing for add ons like antennas or spires. Lots of buildings have not made this list for similar reasons. I appreciate the contribution though.

If you're asking what I think you are, CTBUH does includes spires but not antennae. I'm not sure whether that's the case for MBSH, but it does tend to be the general rule of CTBUH.

yeah, that's true. CTBUH always measures a building to its "architectural height". so if a spire is attached, it therefore counts.

i know lol. you have to be careful with any sources - that's why i always check the actual roof height before posting here.

Remember when cars had electric antennas that would raise and retract......if they used this Idea in a building they could always have the highest......just push the up button now and again ?

oh no ... it's happening. dubai has 54 buildings over 200m completed and T/O, respectively. one more tower and it will take over HK! sources: SSC and wiki.

EDIT: there are currently 37(!) towers over 200m U/C and about 16 approved. imagine a city with 100 200m+ towers!
EDIT 2: shanghai has 43 buildings over 200m.

Can anyone confirm Marina Sands official height, are the 3 towers still 194m? Seemed to me that that they have elevated the observation deck at the skypark.
