It's a bit surprising, but Brazil will build one eventually.

Montreal's height restrictions are even more limiting that Sydney's. It's hard to believe, but in 1962 Montreal had taller buildings than Chicago. I'm hoping that Montreal will one day allow buildings taller than Mount Royal, but I'm not holding my breath.

So Montreal's in the same boat as Sydney.

Sydney has these crazy protected sun vistas and whatnot. Some areas have height limits of 50-odd meters. That's ludicrous in a city like Sydney... but what can you do...

I suppose Sydney's destined to be Australia's Montreal as far as building heights go. Sun vista? Honestly, I'd think Australians would want some shade.

Thanks. I was starting to burn out, so needed to leave this all consuming thread alone for awhile.

I add buildings when they're topped out, and only count them if their roof height is 200 m on greater. Are you talking about Devon Energy's new building? It looks great! What's the official name of the building and roof height?

I rely on updates from members, so the data is only as good as the updates. I'll revise the tables.

OK can someone tell me why BRAZIL, one of the B.R.I.C. countries still hasn't got a building over 200m.

I love Brazil, its a fantastic country with large wealthy urban areas (reletively speaking) and yet no 200m towers.

Is there some law against it???
