Green line is a private bus service between Dhaka and Kolkata. A bus will take you to the Petrapole border from Kolkata where you cross the border on foot and take another bus to Dhaka
(My previous post was a mistake. Can anybody tell me how to delete your own post, Thanks.)

JNNURM buses - looks like that these buses will soon turn into murir tin buses thanks to the poor management and low quality maintenance of the state undertakings

Why do all these buses have different livery instead of a standard livery. Also one of the bus have LED display board, others don't.

I think political parties/social organisations muct be hauled up by court and made to pay heavy fines for damage to public property. Especially in this age when theres a lot of video evidence available. You dont pay the fines, get the Election commission to squeeze them where it hurts.

yes, there is no concrete maintenance plan. Soon they will start getting dents and cracks so common with buses and taxis in Kolkata.

Compared to the private buses we had, these deigns are way better. In fact I saw one of the Tata buses running in the 215A (Salt Lake-Howrah) route. It was looking good

However, the buses can look better if they use proper signboards for the route no. and destination. Pasting a poster on the windscreen looks awful. The automatic doors should also be used, like in Bangalore. This should prevent passengers from getting in and out from the buses from anywhere

all CSTC buses have led displays because they are intercity buses. interstate buses don't need them.

the 300 other buses are AC and ultra low floor. they will be mostly used by the state. the 900 or so other buses will be used by private companies.

we..i mean Kolkata is trying to but within weeks of the ban the old ramshackle pieces of wood and tin were back on the roads. But I hope their days are numbered and we do not find a single one of the old buses a year from now. Even WBSTC, CTC & CSTC need to replace some of their old buses. I am hoping they will do once more buses are supplied.

this 900 is the one I am most concerned about since a consensus regarding the funding has not been arrived at. Those murir tin buses have a new BSIII version ( looks a lot better ofcourse) same blue color and there are several on the roads today. But ofcourse they need to purchase these 900.

Bus looks nice (I mean the fit and finish)...the only disturbing element is the open door, or the lack of a automated door (hydrolically operated doors comon in Volvo bus)
