New bus service to connect residents in Yew Tee to Bukit Panjang Station will commence on the day DTL2 opens. I forsee this will be popular.

Forget about Maxwell - take a look at Grange Road both before and during the construction of TEL's Orchard Boulevard..

The difference couldn't be more stark. It's going to be a long, long time before the road looks like that again - if they even decide to replant the trees after the station is done... it used to be a paradise

Progress always come with a cost. In cities as dense as Singapore, those pictures above are a common sight. At least the Singapore authorities try to minimize the environmental impact as much as possible, such as moving the original TKK placement (it was supposed to be right smack in the middle of HCI's two entrances) down by a couple of metres, which saved quite a huge amount of heritage trees.
