About time we had a thread on this project..

Coming up on what used to be Crown Mills, Orchid Crown is another set of triplets that will make its mark on the growing upper westside skyline. The project has been designed by Hafeez Contractor and L&T has bagged the construction order. The exact number of floors hasn't been released by DBR and repeated attempts by me to get it from them have not yielded any answers. Anyways, the project is expected to be completed by around mid 2013.

I like the design, but it's ridiculously thin. I would rather see 2 fatter towers or even one superfat supertall.

No fat supertalls please!! Slender, sleek towers look so much better..

These look nice enough - but for 300m + towers I feel the design is rather vanilla.. Considering it will be one Mumbai's landmarks I just wish the design had been something iconic..

^sorry not fat, but proportional. id like to compare to the Sheth Beaumonde. if you look at it from the side, it is very skinny (due to low FSI, another reason they build parking lots and a major compound in all these buildings) and I simply find that a bit ugly. Im saying make the width and depth more equal. maybe on second thought, these look okay :/

Yeah, let's hope that date is set in stone and isn't adjusted by 5 years or so.

the private sector usually delivers on time.

delaying the project is not in their best interest.

2013 sounds too unrealistic for 3 80 Floors to be completed within 3 years.

Its possible. they're not being built on top of each other to make it 270-fls. they are being built side by side. they all could get u/c simultaniously if there is a serious demand. It'll be done by 2013. thats like 3+ yrs.

I know dude its 3+ years. It could be possible to be completed within 3 years and I would be one of most happiest persons.

I just hope that once the building comes up they would spruce up the broken and deteriorated walkways around. Looks like sh*t right now.

Can we verify piling please? I would be nice to get a picture of the actual site. If it is under piling, than Mumbai will have these and Palais Royale which means 4 supertalls u/c! Not to mention DB Tower soon to come!
