OTL, yes you assume correctly, but a good selection of food in the Waitrose brand.

Not really... I still rather take a Friday morning drive to Carrefour for the weekly groceries...

Spinney's (the franchise holder/partner) is more expensive then Carrefour or any other supermarket chain in town, so why should the Waitrose be cheaper?

DBD isn't mean to be cheap and having a Carrefour there would be below their standards, hence Waitrose. Not that i agree with them though!!!

Visited the mall last night. Can't say i'm impressed. Its HUGE, no doubt about it, but the lack of attention to detail which we have all been accustomed to (read spoilt with!) are missing in Dubai Mall. The flooring was not that great, the ceiling features were too plain (aluminum like the Airport, and plain white with lights in other areas, wooden panels in another....just uninspiring). Aquarium was a big hit, no doubt about it and i'm sure it will continue to draw crowds.

Did i mention it is HUGE? Only half open and it was quite busy, so i can only imagine what it will be like when all the stores are open. Btw, what was supposed to be so great about Hamley's?

Food court was HUGE! Some interesting new outlets that i have to try, the next time i visit there. Overall, its a nice mall, but definitely not the best. That mantle is held (and well deserved) by Dubai Festival City!

Just my 2 bits.

Yea, i went there 8pm and got in fairly easily from the Convention center road. Parked in like 5 minutes and was in the mall a minute later!
