Sydney has such great density - it puts all the other cities (with maybe the exception of Melbourne) to shame.

same with Adelaide but it looks fairly dense. I guess its the grid kind of layout that Adelaide was based on that gives the impression

NYC is in a league of it's own. I think what he means is that a city with smaller, streets that aren't complely straight and some hills is always going to look denser than a city with wide straight streets like Melbourne.
