UEFA have lost it.First they give 2 finals in 3 years to the english,now 2 finals in 4 to the germans.There are other stadiums that could/should have hosted.San Siro,Camp Nou,the new olympic in Kyiv,even the new Marseille.I hope Atletico new stadium and new Mestalla will be built in the near future,they will definetely both host.

San Siro is a historic stadium. No question about that but it's much too old to get a CL final under normal circumstances. You can't compare Berlin with Milan when it comes to hospitality possibilities and this is extremely important for such an event.

Trust me Bernabeu aint much better than San Siro(it looks alot better but more modern nah),and hosted a couple of years ago.San Siro is a legendary football venue,with stands pretty close to the pitch ,large capacity.Berlin lacks history,has a runtrack.This isnt even worth debating.San Siro is a much more attractive stadium from any POV.Hospitality ?Milano is ten times more beautiful than Berlin.There are plenty of hotels in Milano.

San Siro is way too old and far away from a modern stadium. Yes it has close stands but thats it actually. |

San Siro has pretty low number of VIP seating,so what.Camp Nou has pretty much same advantages ,disadvantages as San Siro.Both old,large with plenty of history,steep close 2 the pitch stands and not huge amount of VIP seating.So in ur opinion Camp Nou also shouldnt host right? get realAsk any football fan where he would want to see his team play a final .I bet anything at least 3/4 will say San Siro or Camp Nou over Berlin Olympia. Let us not forget the beauty of the cities,Berlin aint no Milano or Barcelona.Not for a turists at least. Berlin is a very nice stadium,don't get me wrong.In a big European city .But has quite a numbeer of disadvantages compared to lots of stadiums. |

@Lucian
Matze already let you know what was meant with hospitality areas. In general: I - as a football fan - don't argue for the Berlin Olympic stadium. I would never prefer to award an international football final to a stadium with a running track. Even if it's state of the art for technical purposes. My argumentation was based on the reasons which are important for the UEFA. Regarding San Siro: I attented the CL Final in 2001 there and it wasn't appropriate for such an event 10 years ago. A stadium is more than just the stands. Nevertheless it's an impressive stadium. |

Same for me, I don't want do have a Final played in a stadium with a track! I prefer modern stadium like Allianz Arena, Wembley Stadium, Emirates Stadium.

Camera lens are sometimes tricky to get an idea of the distance...I bet on the third tier you can spot all the offsides and gives you a great perspective of the match (not so much on the stands at the ends...more on the central one). That said, of course, I would prefer be in the middle of the first.

I wouldn't buy tickets any higher than the 2nd tier, maybe if the seats are located centrally, not in the back of the goals, even on National Arena the last 5-6 rows are a bit too far up, stayed there a couple of time, it's still acceptable if the seat is just at the middle of the field where there press boxes are.

National arena in Bucharest has the last row at about 36-37m.San siro is 56m ,i think the maximum height acceptable depends on how close the tier is form the pitch,its angle..Generally speaking anything above 30m is considered nosebleed,over 50m u're better off wathcing it at the local pub with youre friends.Tallest stadium in the world is DKR in Texas btw,65m ![]() ![]() I think they dont even sell tickets at most games in the upper ,third tier at San Siro.I've seen that upper tier closed even at biggish games. |

I like higher places rather than lower places in a stadium. I love the sensations from seeing the bowl of people unfolding bellow you. The bottom rows of the third tier of Stade de France for example aren't even that high, the sensations weren't as strong as when I first went to a match in a big stadium (the old national stadium in Bucharest). Would like to give the San Siro a try sometime.
BTW Ranma Saotome you are doing a great job with the photos in these forums, thanks and keep it up! |
