Is there a thread for the new WFC Pavillion? I have been looking, but couldn't find it. I am trying to tell, from the web cams, if glass is being installed. It seems, in a fuzzy pixelated way, that glass might be there. Of course, that could also be a flec of dust on the lens. Haha.

Anyone with a better view able to confirm progress? Is there a thread with better pics somewhere?

Thanks!

And now we know what those mysterious frames were at the bottom of the webcam image. They have been placed over the abutment pieces in the east.

Looks like some more strangely-shaped steel pieces arrived during the night as well.

Framing any building is somewhat deceiving. The design takes shape fairly quickly, but after that when the trades start working, things seem to slow down. But luckily, it looks like we're about to enter the framing period of the Hub.

There is a sub-portal being placed right now. Only 2 remaining!

They installed one at the northeast corner, but removed one from the southwest corner. So back to being three remaining.

What's the deal with these few remaining subportal pieces? Is it a fit-up issue?

Anyone got any idea what the large boxes are, which have just appeared within the Hub?

I've been wondering about it too. Today the scaffolding appears to be coming down and we can finally see glass from the Earthcams:

Never mind, just an illusion. The scaffolding is all still there.

Some more rafters have arrived, one of them really huge. 10 pieces on site now. And again three subportals left, seems like a neverending puzzle they try to finish with a trial-and-error strategy

I wonder if they need to install temporary supports before they can install those new steel pieces..

I was wrong, the huge pieces are not rafters, those are upper portals. I think my confusion came from the fact both types of piece look pretty similar, aside from the fact that upper portals have hollowed strips for the glass pockets. Apologies for that.

Installation of upper portals will follow an outside-in setup. They'll erect 4 pieces and will be guyed until the transition/arch segments are erected.

Welding is about to start at east abutment.

With both abutments in place and only one welding tent frame, I'll bet they'll move fast. And with 10 pieces of Upper Portals laying around, I'm sure they get set quickly as well. I think exciting times are just ahead for us armchair engineers.

It also looks like a new crane has recently arrived; it's sitting just North of 1 WTC. I wonder if that is needed for the last pieces of the spire?

Swiddle, the light just now was hitting the WFC very nicely, so here's a pic for you:

I hope that works.

My current view of the Transportation Hub. Hopefully, this should change soon.

Its weird ... but ... the new pieces of steel that have arrived at the construction site ... kinda look like airplane wings ... which is a bit of a weird feeling for the WTC site ...
