Yeah, you're right Otie... nevertheless, I had no idea how they're going to assemble the arc segments for instance... got some insight from these construction photos, but anyway, soon we will see.

Any info about that particular part of the construction, meaning the arcs?

Once they finish the structure they will paint them white, which probably won't happen until the very end of construction on this.

I would imagine it will be a very thick coat of white paint or something, to protect the steel for hundreds of years, hopefully.

That hardly seems like reason to celebrate. I want it to be finished now!!! haha

On a different note: I made the promise to myself that once the upper sections of the portals start being placed that I will no longer monitor construction online, as to not spoil the surprise of seeing it in person. However, I'm finding this promise extremely hard to fulfill.

The two fixed arch spanning the whole length of the Oculus are segmented in different pieces, each one attached to a transition segment, which is nothing more than a connector that links the upper portal with the rafter.

They started to lock South and North portal frames with connecting trusses starting from 9-10. Now this structure starts to become rigid and I wait for guy cables to begin to be removed one by one

That's the inverted slab I was talking about, underneath the subway box, it spans from one supercolumn to another.
