I am sure the construction workers and management on site have noted your disappointment, and are very sorry that they have not lived up to your expectations. As I am sure you, like the rest of us watching this thread, are a Professional Iron Worker, Architect, Engineer, or Project Manager, I can only agree with you that this group of construction hacks really leave something to be desired. I mean seriously, I've seen gas stations and strip malls get built faster than this. One can only hope that they start to step it up. Perhaps a few more posts dripping with indignation on this forum will give them the encouragement they need to fulfill your expectations.

Personally, I'd rather see it go up slow and correctly rather than fast and shoddy.

We don't need another "Galloping Gertie" on the books.

True, I was watching Modern Marvels Engineering Disasters and the main reason the Rosemont Horizon Arena collapsed during construction was that the roof wasn't aligned with the fasteners correctly.

Wow, it looks like six have already been installed. I believe that was much quicker than the first six at the other end.

And a temporary structure is rising quickly at the western end, just west of the western crane!

Now it's time for new upper portals to arrive, only one left!

Upper portals, folks, upper portals!

I will repeat it again, no upper portals will arrive until transition segments (yet to come) get welded on top of these

What are those big objects that were delivered this morning and lowered inside? Escalators?

I wasn't sure what you meant by that so I did some reading of what portals refer to in construction. Previously I was familiar with the term being used to mean an opening or entrance.

From the brief reading it seems that portal can also refer to an arch like support. Most usage seemed to refer to portal frame structures.

Is that what you're getting at, that the precise term for the ribs is portal?

From what I gathered, multiple pieces together, forming a single complete arch comprised of columns and trusses, would be referred to as a portal. Is that correct?
