I'll trade any of those Time-Lapse views for the Oculus camera.

first comment here! I've been watching the oculus from this forum for about a year now. Stunning pictures and great source of knowledge.

The worksite used to look so organized, you can tell that they must be having assembly problems because parts are now getting backed up and congestion in the work area is getting very bad!

I would not say that at all, the site always looks like that when new pieces arrive. It takes a lot of work to unload the trailers and then move the pieces to temporary locations so first the trucks can leave with the empty trailers and then installation can begin.

If you look this morning you will notice everything has been moved, stacked, etc and new pieces are going in.

How about the "progress" at tower 4, which has been finished by over a mounth now...

It is OBVIOUS that oculus has been turned off, to hide the construction of Calatrava's work. But I don't understand why...

Or maybe the cam is being repaired. They're exposed to all sorts of weather 24/7.

That camera is positioned at the same place of "Tower 1 base" and "Elevated view". What is the weather like? No hurricanes... The fact is that they are turning them off but I don't know why...

There have been scorching heatwaves, high winds and thunderstorms the past few weeks. Of course that doesn't mean all of the camera have to be down.

They'll be back up when the crew who handles the camera put them up.

You can clearly see here the opening gaps where the skylight machinery will be positioned, even the mounting stakes above the arch segments are visible on some other photos.

Any bets on how long they actually use the opening skylights? I figure either the mechanism will fail or the skylights will constantly be a source of leaks. In either case they will just seal them up!

Everything will be completely sealed up, there will be a channel running just below the machinery to transport water/snow up there. The plan was to close the gap between the glass and catwalks, but the Enclos team and future cleaning staff opted to open the gap so folks can access to machinery for repairs. Bad thing is that debris could enter more easily.

Original plan of narrow skylight gap:

Some exciting news, folks!

I received some interesting and privileged information about the possible uses for the Oculus planned by the Westfield Group. Apparentely there could be a huge 4,000 sq ft IMAX screen sitting right in the middle of the Oculus!!
