Scaffolding needs to rise for platforms for welding team, no new upper portal frame will be positioned until all welding is complete on connections between transition/arch segments and upper portal frames.

Also, take a look at the right corner of the infograph, this is the final design for the stepped terraces. Large and low boxes are the granite benches and the little rectangular pits will accommodate trunks for the trees (not shown). The huge pits we see on photos are actually boxed cavities for the roots, which will be covered with pavers on top, forming several flat terraces.

A few more arch/transition segments came in this morning. They better start putting them up, they are running out of space on the ground to store them. why have they not put any up on the East side yet?

I wonder if the excessive heat in New York is causing any troubles getting the pieces to fit together.

I think that's a question, I'm not sure.

Hey guys, was searching for some concept pictures to show someone and stumbled on your forum. I work for a curtain wall manufacturer and installer and we're building the skylight panels for the Oculus. Just to give you guys a heads up we're about 3/4 of the way finished with building 4 test mock-ups(and they are going to look gorgeous) and after that, as I understand it, we're going straight into production with the rest.

So you're an Enclos guy, nice to meet you! I've got some drawings of skylight, looking at those I must say it is a challenging project.

Yep, it's certainly a headache at times but knowing millions will appreciate it and that it will join the rest of the buildings at the site makes my investment in Aleve worth it.

It surely will. I tried to create a model directly from prints but the detail is just too much to handle, there are so many gaskets, mullions, weather seals and other stuff up there.

An older photo, quite spectacular though, reminding us the scale of the project...

..and the NYObserver:
