From today:

Doesn't really stand out from the ground level yet.

From the ground level this doesn't really stand out or impress yet.

When are the soaring vertical ribs going in?

What an original design!

The WFC...... I mean Brookfield Place new entrance looks classy.

From WTC Progress, on FB.

Wow you can clearly see the immense size of this project now with those first steel pieces up in the air at both sides. They are only going to get bigger up to the middle of the hub, and these look huge already.

Does anyone know what those rectangular connection points at the end of the sides of the transition segments are for? Maybe someone has an image to illustrate this?

If you are asking about those steel lugs sticking out they are just temporary splice plates drilled for coverplates connections. After the rafters are welded together to the transition sectors, the lugs will be cut and the surface smoothly grinded.

Same connections are visible between upper portal and arch/transition on both internal and external side.

I detailed those parts for the steel fabricator here in italy.

cheers

Is that "exhaust pipe" (sticking out of the hole) for the tension cables?

It appears to run through the transition pieces...

^No, rectangular boxes are tree pits and are being waterproofed.
