I hope to god that the church will be something fairly normal-looking (like in the renders we have seen of Liberty Park). The Calatrava hub is awesome, but I would hate to see two mounds of twisty steel so close together at the site.

Well you're out of luck my friend, cause regardless of what the church looks like, not too far will be the performing arts center designed by no other than Frank Ghery and boy does this guy like his twisty buildings; can't wait for both renderings, I too hope they don't overdo it but stay creative.

I wish NYC would run Frank Gehry out of town on a rail ... and then run him over with that train ... He doesn't deserve to be associated with New York City.

Why?

Some of his work is good, just look at the Beekman.

Cool pics but it's a kind of rude to upload huge files like these.
It looks like a spam and you did the same on another thread where some people already complained.
What is the purpose?there is no comment, nothing, only the bad surprise to have to deal with these monstruous "invaders"...

Isn't that part of the purpose of this thread? Many people enjoy them, and you are the one who is being rude.

Exactly. The bigger the image the more detail we get. It's not like you're forced to download them!

In Addition to the size they are all the same or so close, it's hard to tell the difference. If you want people to be able to see the large images provide a link where they can download them from, don't embed them in the forum.

I thank her for the photos. She might not realize that she has to scale the raw photo down or select the appropriate resolution. I had a similar problem.

Here's one of her photos at flickr's Large 1024 res and the link to her WTC/911 photo set. The transport hub photos are in page 2 & 3 @ all the resolution an iPhone5 can provide:

Yay another transition/arch segment goes in. They seem to be doing like 2 or 3 a week. It's gonna take forever to get this thing finished at this rate.

Yah.

I wonder if the (re)opening of the Cortlandt street subway station under the rebuilt Greenwich street will be impacted? Last I read that is supposed to happen sometime in 2014.

When that opens it will be very convenient to get to this site via the IRT's Broadway-Seventh Ave line. The closest IRT stop is now the Rector St, stop (#1 train) which is only a few blocks south of the WTC Transportation Hub.

A June 2013 web entry states "TCO is expected in appx. October 2013" for 4 WTC. I assume 4 WTC has direct connections to the Cortlandt street stop so I guess those could open early.

If the Transport Hub isn't open in 2014, could you get from the existing PATH station to the (hopefully) re-opened Cortlandt St Station w/o having to go above ground?

I'll bet we see some more steel arriving soon. All those pieces that were laying around are about gone.
