I bet NYPD screamed "security" and blah blah blah, so they shut down that cam. Throw a word "terrorism" and NYPD will get anything they want.

Sadly, I believe you are correct. All it takes is one paranoid official to ruin it for everyone else

Yeah, like all the layouts are not online anyway. I'm sure the bad guys will be fooled.

why dont they just close the temporary path station, open the entire hub except for the oculus and make the entrance at brookfield place? that will make sure that the Performing Arts Center will be built, and it will make the site look more complete.

It's from the same camera that takes the other high-res shots. It's really strange that just the one view from the camera is missing while the camera is operating normally for the others.

I found it weird that the cam was still updating for months without them putting the link back on Earthcam.com, anyway I've done my bit and reported the broken link, whilst giving a sob story about how much we use that cam

Well this was at like 8pm or so on a Saturday, the Path trains are closed or not running at that time as the entrance to go down the escalators were closed. So that is why there were no people.

Agreed. Maybe some stars or art hanging from the ceiling would make it more inviting and less sterile.

For 3 weekends in November PATH station will be shut down because they have to clean up tunnels from a sea salt that was left there after flooding last year. Also on a weekends there will be not many people there because most people have days off from work.

As far as that cam go, I don't think it will be coming back

This is really going to be a great place (Brookfield Place connected with the Transpo Hub) when it is done, but it's empty-ish right now because there is major construction going on at both sites. And it is also not a very well-known entrance to the PATH station as of yet.

Very impressive though - will be a great addition to NYC
