Looks like another transition "in medias liftas" at 1316 EST (coming up from oculus floor on north side).

The new platform opened today

http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2014/02/...-path-station/

I really like the exposed walls

http://blogs.wsj.com/metropolis/2014...form-unveiled/

The " World Trade Center" inscriptions as well as the clock on the last pics are pretty cool. They showed it on TV as well as the whole platform, it looks even better. This station's gonna be an instant masterpiece.

Beautiful, one step closer to completion. I totally agree, love seeing "Welcome to the World Trade Center" just like it did in the original station/mall...nostalgia...

Love everything about it. If a simple platform is this nice, I can't imagine how the whole Transit Hub as a whole will look like once completed...

New station platform looks incredible! Going to visit today! How are the PA cops with harassing photographers there? I have never had problems in the underground WFC concourse, but they always confront you in any other PATH station, even by the escalators in the temporary hall.

Not sure it will be every day, but yesterday they were fine with people snapping pictures.

I have not tried to take a photo in the new station, but they're normally very aggressive, as you know. They may be letting up for a couple days while the station is new.

So in their minds, pictures snapped yesterday are of no value to terrorists but pictures snapped on other days are? Typical BS. There will be so many pics online no potential terrorist would need to go there to take his own.

Actually I believe that it is NYC law, you are not allowed to take pictures with a professional rated camera with out a permit or some type of special license.

My uncle is a photographer in NYC and that is what he once told me, I believe that it has to do with landmarks and other known places, but I am not 100% sure.

It may be that the police just believe they can do this, I can't quite remember, since it was over 7 years ago when I last so him.

The new station looks incredible!

Just like I thought they would, the Port Authority police and assigned soldiers are making it a point to confront photographers on the platform level. They are not causing problems on the mezzanine level, like with the concourse, but the security guard there will stare at you while you do photograph the mezzanine. After I took my pictures, two PA cops in Riot gear and two soldiers in full combat uniforms confronted a photographer with a professional camera and then another one with a smartphone. Then one of them saw me and motioned for me to put away my camera. I guess that the 1st Amendment does not apply to PATH stations.

Anyway, here are my pictures, essentially the same ones as the news articles. All of the pictures are on my blog, http://urbanismvsmodernism.blogspot....y-2262014.html

In case you forgot how good that the concourse looks,

The current progress on the main hall.
