I believe that the law you are referring to is in regards to photographing people and places with your $10,000 camera that is normally used to photograph supermodels for advertising. That is a requirement for what is essentially a business license, which requires that you get peoples' permission before they wind up in the background of the resulting advertisement or video, since they could legal demand financial compensation.

PATH itself has a rule buried deep within its code of conduct, that is only available if you search for it, which states that you must contact the PA in person during specific limited office hours to get a photography permit for a specific day and time during which a PA employee must go with you to tell you what you can or cannot photograph.

The problem is so prominent and rampant that Time Magazine covered it in 2004 (not about the PATH network.)http://content.time.com/time/magazin...638410,00.html

I guess the biggest question is wether it's considered private or public property.

The best "protest" would be to organize a camera-toting flash mob of hundreds to show up all at once taking pictures. I wonder how the State Security Apparatus would react?

They are on fire today! One upper portal in on the south west side. One transition segment going in now on the north west side. Looks like another upper portal getting ready to be placed on the east side and it's only 10:30 AM.

Maybe by then, at least one of the other buildings will be under construction again. Let's hope so, anyway.

Sounds about right, my uncle is a photographer so that would explain it, like I said, along time ago.

Thanks

*The following information was last updated on February 26, 2014.

MAIN WTC HUB SITE:

Oculus superstructure steel erection underway since early 2013
Final PATH train platform build out
Construction connecting Hub to Vehicular Security Center underground complex
Removal of sections of the temporary station entrance on Vesey Street begins mid-2014, with construction to follow on WTC Performing Arts Center structure
Public access and "beneficial use" of new Hub starting in late 2015

So weird that they are removing the temp station this year?! It also says new temporary access to PATH will start through 2WTC in spring.

Great angle from WTC Progress on Facebook..

shows that the length of the upper portals is still slightly increasing..

from this photo you can really see how big this thing really is. I always thought it would be kinda small but now seeing how small the workers are compared to the "ribs", its huge!

Really impressive progress this last week...

...totally 6 upper portals went up and 7 transition segments got in place (as far as I can correctly count...).

(comparing a snapshot from last Saturday, Feb the 22nd, and today, March the 2nd...)

Another reason to include NYC in my future travel plans. It's already looking amazing.
