Looks like this project is suffering from a Sydney-opera-house syndrome. I'll bet that when it is done and the sun shines through those white "ribs" ..all the noise will go like.. poof!

If you'll remember - when they first started installing the "ribs" and the transition segments, it started slow with several pieces being placed, removed, and replaced. I am sure this is just a part of the fine tuning and the rate will pick up after they get into a rhythm.

Looks like an optical illusion right now. Good to see the gap down to 6 pairs!

The first eastern rafter is on. Wait, now it's off. Now it's on again. No, it's off... wait, it's on again. Drat, they just took it off. Nope, it's on there again... no, now it's off. Hey, it's now on... no, it's off again.

There is a method to their madness.

They are practicing the best ways to install those rafter fins with different crane operators and construction crews.

They did the same thing when they first started installing the transition segments, so that all construction crews and crane operators have good enough practice to install them.

So relax, the transition segments should be all in by April and the Rafter Fins should begin installing soon thereafter.

Hopefully all should be in place before the end of the year.

Thanks for the update. Image sizes are getting a little out of hand in this thread, though.

Agreed. I appreciate the earthcam pics cause I can't access the site while I'm at work. But they are too big for the forum. Resizing them smaller would be much appreciated.

I like the exterior design. It's very unique to train stations around the world.

And it reminds me of Sydney Opera House.

I am not sure if this works with mobile devices, but if you right click on the large image and select "View Image", you will get a smaller, compete view of the image. You can even zoom on this smaller image using CTRL and the mouse wheel.
